As a Starward Homes Construction Estimator you will be responsible for estimating the cost of labour, material and equipment, analyzing trade requirements and scopes of work and preparing the tender documents for residential single and multi-family construction projects. Some of the main duties will include:
Develop comprehensive cost estimates and bids for senior management approval for both existing and conceptual projects
Assist in determining trade specific scopes of work and contractual requirements
Review house plans and drawings
Coordinate the trade tender selection process including the sourcing of trades and assessment of tender packages
Monitor construction cost and address adjustments as necessary
Collaboration with other Starward Homes staff to improve operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction
Skills required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential construction estimating role
Graduate of an Architectural Technology and/or a Construction Estimating and Quantity Surveying program would be a definite asset
Ability to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimates
Detailed understanding of residential construction practices, techniques and processes
