Walking, Golf and Boas…all for a good cause!
We know that healthy, thriving communities are made up of more than just homes. It’s truly about the people. And, while Starward has supported many organizations over the years, from sports team sponsorship all the way to land and building donations to house the homeless, our true focus, and a legacy of the Campbell family, has been to support the needs of the women and children in our community.
With the launch of The Starward Community Care Foundation (CCF) last Fall, we’ve been busy doing just this!
June was the YWCA Hamilton’s “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” month supporting women and children against violence. What a great event! Our team was there, green shirts, red boas and all, showing our support and helping to raise much needed funds that support the vital programming offered to help women and children in our community.
And in July we played Golf with Neighbour to Neighbour, helping to raise funds for their food banks and programming that supports and strengthens our community and gives focus to helping people thrive, not just survive.
And finally, at Starward we’ve been co-ordinating with Mcmaster Kids Hospital and their Midwifery led Labour and Delivery ward, running a matching campaign whereby we’ll match all donations up to $10,000, with the goal of being able to support families, moms and kids during the labour and delivery process, ensuring midwifery led services wrapped with access to full team run medical care when/if needed.
