Field Handyman Service Technician – Job Opportunity
Starward Homes is currently seeking a Field Handyman Service Technician for the Hamilton and Cambridge areas. This team member will ensure all home owners have a fair and professional assessment of their listed deficiencies and that all required repairs are done as per Tarion guidelines, in a good workmanlike manner, and to Starward’s policy timeline standards,
Some Key Responsibilities:
Meet with home owners to assess listed deficiencies/conciliation items
Determination of warranted deficiencies via investigation
Delegation, organization and coordination of required repairs for trades
Repairs/touch-ups of warranted items
Ensure adequate planning and coordination for any necessary materials in advance to complete repairs
Completion of all required labour items within each unit
Regular communication with Administrators, Managers, customers and trade partners
Communication with Tarion representatives, when required
Full knowledge of current Tarion’s Construction Performance Guidelines
Utilize Builderlynx/Punch List Manager, Outlook, Tarion’s current Construction Performance Guidelines and Tarion’s Builder Link toward resolution of warranted deficiencies
Required Skills:
5+ years hands-on residential construction industry experience
Must have excellent knowledge of Tarion and its associated Construction Performance Guidelines
Have a strong general knowledge of all types of repairs and tradesman disciplines such as, but not limited to, drywall, painting, tile, carpentry, and basic plumbing and electrical
Capable of climbing ladders and comfortable with heights,
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills along with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy with capacity to comfortably navigating software programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.) and Punch List Manager, Knowledge of Timberscan and Builderlynx an asset
Must be a team player and team builder with strong active listening skills and ability to multi-task with collaborative leadership style
Be professional, courteous, respectful and honest with capacity for building and maintaining harmonious working relationships, both with internal and external team members, trade partners and customers
Maintain a valid G Class license and MUST be COVID-19 Vaccinated
